Revs Acquire Kei Kamara From Columbus

Wooooooowwww. Wowowowowowow. Blockbuster trade, and the second one involving New England after we sent Jermaine Jones to Colorado. Kamara scored 22 goals last season but has been in a contract dispute with the Crew, leading them to look for trade partners. Since Kamara is a DP he could only go to teams that still had a DP slot open. You know who's notorious for never filling all their DP slots? The Revs. What a long con. The attitude issues absolutely worry me (Crew fans used the phrase "There's no Kei in team" as of late) but as long as he scores I'm sure he'll be a happy camper. Goals=$$$. You score and the front office will pay you for that production. And we didn't give up any players, just an international roster spot and money. So Kamara joins an already talented strike force that he will hopefully wake up, and then goals will be coming out of our ears.

Have to wonder if someone like Lee Nguyen, who's had his own contract disputes recently, feels a little slighted. I mean bringing in a DP when you yourself believe you deserve more money isn't exactly a recipe for positive energy. And there was incident a few days ago where he argued with Federico Higuain over taking a penalty kick, and Lee does that here as well. But hey, if there's any team who should be taking these risks and experimenting, it's New England. Welcome Kei.
